Wednesday football practice report

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Razorback football team returned to the practice field Wednesday afternoon for a workout inside Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Following practice, defensive coordinator Willy Robinson spoke with the media.

On Florida’s Tim Tebow:

"He does both phases very well. He knows the ball and he has certain balls that he throws extremely well. He knows he has some throws that he struggles with. He runs that offense and he loves being the leader of that offense. Regardless of his injury, he’s still going to be a competitor. His nature is to compete until the final bell."

On Jerico Nelson’s recent performances:

"He’s been very productive for us. Because of the amount of reps he has been getting, he has a tendency to get worn down a little bit. Keeping him fresh is very important. He’s the type of guy who can take things over so you definitely have to account for him on offense. He does a nice job in zone coverages and reads things very well. I think he has really improved on his tackling. He brings a lot of energy to our football team. The play that he made against Auburn ignited us on defense. He executes well and he knows what to expect."

On Arkansas’ defensive line:

"They have done a great job. I think it has to do with the preparation by (UA assistant coaches) Bobby Allen and Kirk Botkin. Our defensive line is well prepared. Coach Allen does a great job watching it upstairs and Coach Botkin does a great job of getting feedback from the players. We adjust very well off that."

On Elton Ford’s recent performances:

"I think he has done a great job tackling. He’s tackling the catch, showing up on the run. He’s starting to stay on his feet when he tackles and great tacklers do that. That’s something he has made great strides in."

On Florida’s offense:

"They are extremely talented up front. They have great size. Their backs aren’t the biggest guys in the world but sometimes that is to their advantage. They are very gutsy and courageous to take the ball up and inside. We feel like it’s the best offensive line we have seen so far and we’ll face all year."
