Weekend Road Trip Begins at Texas A&M

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team hits the road for a pair of weekend matches starting with a Friday matchup against Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. First serve of the Southeastern Conference contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT) at Reed Arena. The Razorbacks enter the weekend with a 13-7 overall record and a 6-3 mark in conference play.

Arkansas has reached the halfway point of its SEC schedule, having posted a four-set victory over Georgia in its last outing. The match featured a pair of 18-kill performances from senior Hayley Koop and junior Meredith Hays and a team-high 23 digs from senior libero Emily Helm. The Razorbacks trailed by as many as four points in the fourth set before rallying to clinch the win with a kill from Koop.

Friday’s match will be the third meeting between Arkansas and Texas A&M. The two teams met for the first time last season with the Aggies winning on both occasions. Texas A&M is 10-8 overall this season and carries a 2-5 record in conference play.

In this week’s release of the NCAA RPI, the Razorbacks are one of seven SEC teams positioned inside the top 40 of the national index.

Following Friday night’s match at Texas A&M, the Razorbacks will travel to Baton Rouge, La., in preparation of their weekend final against LSU. Sunday’s matchup against the Tigers is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT) at the Maravich Center. Arkansas holds a 25-15 advantage in its all-time series with LSU and has won three of the last four meetings.
