FAYETTEVILLE — Regine Williams was named Southeastern Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday. Williams earned the honor following her first collegiate meet at the Arkansas Invitational on Friday.
The freshman made an impressive start to her collegiate career and ranks in the top-10 nationally in two events. Williams currently leads the nation in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.37 and ranks 10th nationally in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.43. She also ran a leg of the Razorbacks’ second-place 4×400-meter relay that finished in 3:45.63.
Williams and the Razorbacks will be back in action this Friday as Arkansas hosts No. 1 Texas in the Arkansas vs. Texas Dual at Randal Tyson Track Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
