Women?s track heads to Norman

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 22 Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field will continue the outdoor season with the John Jacobs Invitational, Sat., April 11. The meet will be held at John Jacobs Field on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

Field events will begin at 11 a.m. with running starting at 12:45 p.m. Live results can be found at ArkansasRazorbacks.com. A complete meet recap will be available at ArkansasRazorbacks.com shortly after the final event on each day of competition.

Competing alongside the No. 22 Razorbacks will be Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Oral Roberts and SMU. The Razorbacks will be represented by the sprinters, jumpers and relay teams. Expected to compete are Katie Stripling, Tara Diebold and the pole vault crew; Shelise Williams, Courtenay Brown and the sprints crew; and Etienne Chaplin in various heptathlon events.

Since the start of the season in March, the Razorbacks have picked up 13 regional qualifiers in seven events. Additionally, Chaplin likely punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships in June at the Texas Relays. She finished third in the heptathlon with a point total of 5,400, an NCAA provisional mark. She currently ranks sixth nationally and leads the SEC.
