HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The University of Arkansas women’s golf team completed about seven holes of second round action before weather suspended play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Saturday.
The Razorbacks posted a 305 in the opening round and was tied for 11th after the first day. Sophomore All-American Emily Tubert paced the team with a two-over par 71 and is tied for 10th overall. Sophomore Emma Lavy and junior Victoria Vela are tied for 31st with a 76, junior Emily Podzielinski shot an 80 and freshman Audrey Monssoh an 82 after the first round.
Teams were on the course and were nearing the turn when the heavy rains began to include severe lightening forcing officials to clear the course.
Play was eventually suspended and will resume at 10 a.m. Sunday and event will be reduced to a 36-hole contest.
