FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The two players who have led Arkansas’ tennis team all season, Adrians Zguns and Nathan Price, have each been rewarded by earning All-Southeastern Conference honors. Zguns, a sophomore from Latvia, made the first team and Price, a senior from Tulsa, made the second team. Zguns is 33-8 and ranked No. 16 in the nation. He has a 10-1 record at No. 2 singles and was 8-3 in SEC play this season. Price, who earlier this week was named the SEC Tennis Player of the Week, is 30-11 with a 9-4 record at No. 1 singles. He is ranked No. 38 in the nation. Zguns and Price are the first Razorbacks to win 30 matches in a season since Marcus Hilpert went 47-4 in 1994. This is the first year two Hogs have earned All-SEC honors since 1998 when the doubles tandem of Tim Crichton and Tom Hamilton were named all-conference. It’s the first time two singles players have earned all-league honors in the same season since Hamilton and Daniel Pahlsson did so in 1995. Zguns and Price helped Arkansas to a 14-8 record and No. 26 national ranking heading into the SEC Tournament.
