Beyond the Box: Arkansas vs. Ole Miss

PLAYERS OF THE GAME: Sarah Watkins led Arkansas throughout the game with superior shooting. The senior went 7-of-8 from the field, knocking down seven of her eight free throw attempts to lead the Razorbacks with 22 points. In total, four Razorbacks tallied double-digit scoring en route to the victory as Quistelle Williams (16), Erin Gatling (13) and Dominique Wilson (13) all compiled double-digits.

PLAYS AND TURNING POINT OF THE GAME: In the first half Arkansas was trailing by four (12-8) and was struggling offensively, but senior Erin Gatling knocked down Arkansas' first three of the game with 14:33 remaining in the first off an assist from Jhasmin Bowen. Just second later Dominique Wilson kicked it out to Calli Berna for three to give Arkansas a 14-12 lead over Ole Miss, which they would never let go of. The Razorbacks weren't done yet as senior Sarah Watkins drained one from behind the arc off a pass from Berna to put Arkansas up 17-12, capping off a 9-0 run. In just 59 seconds Arkansas sank three, three-pointers off three assists to take the lead from the Rebels.

STATS OF THE GAME: Arkansas shot the ball exceedingly well throughout the game, making 60 percent of its field goals and 52.2 percent of its three-point shots. Arkansas was 12-of-23 from beyond the arc with six different Razorbacks contributing. The superior shooting helped them to their third-highest point total of the season, as Arkansas only eclipsed 90-plus points two other times. Arkansas also came up big off the glass, as the Razorbacks out-rebounded the Rebels 42-26. Peak, Berna and Williams each tallied a game-high six rebounds in the outing.
